Ather 450X Latest Update

 Ather 450X Latest Update

Ather has introduced a faster charging option for the base variant without the Pro Pack. Here's how much it costs. The company is also all set to give the 450X new features to make your life a lot easier. Check them out here. The company earlier filed for a new trademark. So does that mean a more affordable variant is incoming? Here's what we think.

Ather launched a lower-spec variant of its Ather 450X e-scooter which incorporates a greyscale TFT display and witnessed a major price drop. Check out the launch story here. Moreover, here are five options at around the same price bracket for those who aren’t too keen on this entry-level 450X. The Ather 450X now comes with automatic slope detection which deploys Auto-Hold (hill hold feature). It even gets a revised UI with Google Maps integration in its console for added convenience. Check out all the new features here.

Features:

The standard Ather 450X sports an IP65 rated 7-inch, greyscale, capacitive touchscreen console. Both variants are powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor, with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The e-scooter runs on an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) -based OS.

The e-scooter comes with a Pro Pack add-on which gives it additional features like a coloured screen with adaptive brightness along with 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity for Call/SMS alerts and music controls and Google Maps powered navigation. Additionally, it gets multiple themes and night mode, auto-off turn indicators, Guide-me-home light, documents storage, OTA software updates, location tracking, trip planner, fast charging, Auto-Hold (hill-hold control) feature, and five ride modes – SmartEco, Eco, Ride, Sport & Warp. It also features a tyre pressure monitoring system as an additional accessory.

Price:

The Ather 450X comes in two variants, the Standard variant is offered at Rs 98,079. The 450X with Pro-pack add-on comes priced at Rs 1,28,443 (all ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME 2 and state subsidies).

Specifications:

The Ather 450X is powered by a PMSM electric motor with a 6.4kW peak power. The vehicle has a claimed top speed of 90kmph and goes from 0-40kmph in 3.3 seconds. It runs via a belt final drive. Its lithium-ion battery is a 3.7kWh IP67 unit which takes 5 hours 40 minutes to charge fully on the Pro-pack variant. The standard variant, on the other hand, takes 15 hours 20 minutes to fully top up using a home charger. It has front and rear disc brakes with 3-piston and 1-piston calipers respectively. Both wheels are 12 inch units, wrapped in 90-section (front) and 100-section (rear) tubeless tyres, with CBS as standard. The e-scooter is put together on a hybrid steel-aluminium chassis, which is suspended via a telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock.

Rivals:

The Ather 450X rivals the likes of the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube and the upcoming iQube ST, Revolt RV400, Hero Vida V1 and the Simple One. However, if performance isn't a compulsion, you could even look at the Bajaj Chetak.
